What is Shop Local Canada?
At Shop Local CANADA, our mission is to make shopping local easier. We help Canadians find and discover amazing local stores across Canada through our store directory, gift guides and sale alerts.

We also strongly believe in helping Canadian entrepreneurs build successful businesses and that shopping local has a positive impact on individuals, their families, their communities and Canada as a whole.

ABOUT THE FOUNDER
Shop Local CANADA was founded by Amy Armstrong, a passionate small business owner and advocate of shopping local.

As a small business owner herself, she saw the need for a unique place to discover local businesses. She loves and believes in supporting local Canadian businesses and entrepreneurs, but she always felt like it was hard to find them. Or, she would discover a local store she loved at a market and never be able to find it again. She knew that if she felt that way, there were probably other people who felt the same way.

She believes that if you make it easy for people, they are more likely to follow. The same can be said for local shopping. She knew that if she could help people easily find and discover local stores, more of them would choose to shop local.

Having grown up in a family of entrepreneurs and started several businesses herself, she knows firsthand the impact that supporting local can have on individuals, families and communities.

She has made it her mission to make shopping local and supporting Canadian entrepreneurs an easy choice by creating Shop Local CANADA.
